Mud ball And The Leaf

complete the story Once a mud ball and a leaf set out to see the world.
As they were walking they came across a stream.
"Oh dear!" said the mud ball, looking worriedly at the water.
"I cannot cross the stream!"
"Of course, you can," replied the leaf cheerfully.
"Just hop on to my back and I'll take you across."
And so the mud ball climbed on to the leaf and the two reached the other side of the bank.
A little later it began to blow.
The leaf quivered and said sadly ,"If this wind gets any fiercer, I will get blown away!"
The mud ball gallantly stood on her until the wind subsided.
All was well for a while.
Then all of a sudden there was thunder and lightning... accompanied by gusty winds and a heavy downpour.

What happened then? Did the mud ball and the leaf survive?
