A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed

complete the story Myna was flying home one evening. After a lot of effort she had finally found a delicious worm. It was late evening and her young ones would be waiting eagerly for their dinner. Suddenly Myna heard a shrill scream. It was Mr. Ant, calling out for help. He had fallen into a stream and was struggling to keep afloat.
Myna flew down to see if she could help Mr. Ant. She realized that she could save him. All she had to do was throw Mr. Ant a lifeline and haul him up to safety. But if she opened her beak to pick up a string, the hard-found worm would fall out. Besides it was getting late. On the other hand, if she left Mr. Ant in the stream, he would surely die.

HERE ARE THE STORY ENDINGS FROM OUR VALUABLE VIEWERS.

gurkiratsaini

Myna flew to the shore. Placed the worm on a leaf. Since it was dead, it would not move anywhere. There was a little string that she threw in the water for Mr. Ant. Mr.Ant held the string and safely got to the shore. Myna flew back to the leaf, picked up the worm, and went home to treat her young ones.

lavanyanarayan

Though Myna thought about the worm, she felt that she should help Mr.Ant. So she dropped the worm and flew to Mr.Ant and saved him. Now, Myna had squeezed the worm and there were no animals to find worms to eat. So Myna had saved Mr.Ant and went to find her luscious prey and got the worm. Myna saved Mr.Ant and got her fruit after all!

prateeksha

She gave Mr. Ant one lifeline and the worm one lifeline.

unnatinarang

She would definitely have had a struggle of thoughts in her mind. But if she was a true friend or even had a bit of kindness in her heart, she would save Mr. Ant. It surely wouldn't take much time and her young ones could wait. The life of someone was at risk. In such circumstances she should be selfless .

aswinjayaraman

Myna shook the branch she was sitting. One leaf fell on water. The ant used it as a boat to escape. Thus myna was able to save both ant and her food.

aamirgigani

If she would let the worm go to help somebody the heavens would surely help her & she would soon find more worms.

sufyan

First she must help the ant because a friend in need is a friend indeed and she can find another worm soon.

preethi

She thought about it and made a quick decision to save Mr.ant, by putting her hard found worm down and throwing Mr. ant a lifeline. As soon as Mr Ant got out, he thanked Myna for saving his life and asked what did she drop. Myna said that it was a worm that she had found. Mr Ant then took Myna to a place where there was lots of delicious worms. Myna could feed her younger ones without any problem thereafter.

tania

So the bird went for help; then she saw scorpion and said ant is stuck in the stream. So scorpion went in the water and helped ant out of the stream . Ant said thanks a lot and then they lived happy ever after.

jayathi

Myna acted fast. What was she to do? Then an idea struck her mind and she flew to Mr. Ant and said-"Mr. Ant! Grab hold of the worm. I shall pull you up." Mr. Ant tried to catch hold of the worm but it was too slippery. Terrified that he may not be saved after all, he fainted. Now the worm in Myna's beak was still alive. He knew that he was on a rescue mission and he caught hold of the ant quickly before the tide could carry it away. "Go on Myna!"-he shouted."Pull us out!"And Myna pulled Mr. Ant out. Once out of the water, Mr. Ant regained his conciousness. When he heard of their bravery, Mr. Ant thanked them both. And then he said,"Why Myna! Are you going to eat Mr. Worm?" Myna nodded. "Don't Myna, don't!"-said Mr. Ant. "Spare Mr. Worm's life. After all, he helped me. If he wouldn't have caught my hand, I would have died." Myna replied,"I know, Mr. Ant. But what can I do? My babies are starving to death and I got Mr. Worm with difficulty." "But I can help you in that."-said Mr. Ant." I will give you grains instead of Mr. Worm. Not only today, but I will give grains everyday so that you don't have to eat Mr. Worm." Myna agreed and from then onwards, they lived happily ever after.

maryamchowdhury

Then, Myna had an idea! She decided to feed her babies first then fly back to help Mr. Ant. Then, he would be safe and dry. She would be the hero of the entire Ant kingdom. The moral of this story is: You should always help a friend and they shall give you something in return.

ruchi

So Myna then decided to tear off a leaf from the tree and held down the leaf to Mr.Ant so that he could come out safely. Mr. Ant then got on to the leaf. Myna then pulled the leaf out of the water. Mr.Ant was stunned to watch himself alive. He was too thankful to Myna.

noreenakhtar

Suddenly she had an idea. She thought to herself that if she could leave the worm in her mouth and with her claws she could pick Mr.Ant up. In the end Myna saved Mr.Ant and was just in time for her young ones.

achala

Myna should come down to the stream and should give support to Mr. Ant with the worm. Mr Ant will climb on the worm and she should fly to her house with worm and Mr Ant on the worm. Thus she will not lose the worm which she got after lots of effort and she will save Mr. Ant also.

hemlatasindhura

Myna thought of helping out Mr.Ant although she knew that leaving worm will leave her without food for her children. As soon as she helped Mr. Ant come out of the water she started crying and told her story to Mr. Ant. Mr Ant told her that he knew a place where many worms lived under a tree and Myna went away with Mr. Ant happily.

firdous

So he goes under a tree and picked up one leaf and dropped it in the water. The ant sat on that leaf and easily came out. So the ant thanked the pigeon and they moved away happily.

Ammara

Mr. Ant was Myna's friend and Myna could not let him die in front of her eyes. she looked here and there but no one was there to help. Besides Myna had no time to spare. Myna started thinking fast. If she helped Mr. Ant, her babies will die of hunger and she could not turn away when her friend was in trouble. At last Myna decided what to do. She took a deep breath and threw aside the worm. Then quickly she picked a leaf from under a tree and threw it in the water. Mr. Ant climbed on the leaf and Myna pulled the leaf out. GREAT RELIEF! Mr Ant thanked Myna. But Myna was looking sad and Mr Ant knew that she had no food for her babies that's why she was so unhappy. so Mr Ant repaid Myna by giving her half the friuts and grains he had stored for the winter. Myna was very delighted and from that day Myna and Mr Ant became best friends. It is true that A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED.

lildude

Myna was in a dilemma now. She had to feed her starving babies, still she chould not let Mr. Ant die in front her. So in an instant she made the decision. She put the worm down broke a leaf from the nearest tree and placed it in the water nearest to Mr.Ant so that the ant could climb onto the leaf. Next she flapped her wings to guide the leaf to the shore. On reaching the shore Mr.Ant thanked Myna and promised that he would help her, if any need ever arised. Myna thought 'what could a ant ever help her in'. However she politely smiled at Mr.Ant and flew away to find food for her starving babies. Many days later a hunter came to the forest. He saw Myna sleeping in her nest with her babies. He started to climb the tree to catch Myna. Mr. Ant was walking along when he saw the hunter climbing the tree to catch Myna. He ran up the tree and bit the leg of the hunter. The pain in the leg made the hunter scream, miss his footing and he fell down the tree. The commotion meanwhile aroused Myna who looked down to see a hunter slowly cursing and limping away. Mrs. Owl who lived in the next tree told Myna about the whole incident. Myna went to Mr.Ant and thanked him and praised him for his bravery. Mr.Ant told Myna that he was just repaying his debt for saving his life earlier. So a friend in need is a friend indeed.

salim al-battashi

A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed

FORAM

The myna now being 'between the devil and the deep blue sea' could not think of what to do. Looking around she found no one and then thought would find some other food for her babies but at that point of time it was necessary to save Mr. Ant. So she threw the worm that she was holding between her beak and at once started rummaging for a leaf. On finding one, she threw it for Mr. Ant's help. She then pulled him out and Mr. Ant thanked her for saving his life. This reminds us of the proverb "A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND IN DEED".

Raul

So he goes under a tree and picked up one leaf and dropped it in the water. The ant sat on that leaf and easily came out. So the ant thanked the pigeon and they moved away happily.

liyleucoama

Myna was put in a very difficult situation: She had to choose between Mr. Ant's life or her babies. She got an idea! She grabbed a little piece of wood and dropped it into the water so Mr Ant could hold himself there until she fed her babies. After that she took a lifeline and saved him. Like that Myna and Mr.Ant became best friends!

shivani

Myna keeps the worm on the side and takes a leaf and throws it into the water. Mr. Ant climbs on it and then Myna went and pulled the leaf out of the water and pulled him ashore where he is safe then she takes the worm and goes back home. After a few days Myna was sitting on a tree branch where a hunter came to kill her. Mr. Ant saw the hunter and before he could shoot Myna Mr. Ant went and bit him on his leg the hunter gave a loud cry. Myna looked back and got warned about the hunter and she flew away and later came back to thank Mr Ant. Mr. Ant told her a friend in need is a friend indeed

Kausar

So you see mates A friend in need is a friend indeed

namita

She threw a leaf to the ant. A few days later a hunter was going to shoot myna so the ant bite the hunter on the heel.

x

The bird gave one end of the worm to the ant to hold and on the other side she pulled it to bring the ant to saftey. The ant came up on to the shore and thanked the bird with a kiss. So the bird flew to its nest with the worm and the ants kisses to her chicks.

Ariel Smith

Mr.Ant was in trouble and she helped two different kinds of animals: her young ones and Mr.Ant. She did a kind thing and also saved two lives: her young birds and Mr.Ant. What if she didn't help Mr.Ant and she flew right by? Well Mr. Ant would have died and she would not have many friends that would trust her to help them so why would they help her if she was in trouble!?

Okeechobee

So the bird figured "Oh well, those stupid ants bite me all the time anyways..."

Michael Dennison

So Myna did the selfless thing and released the worm - lucky worm! She then flew down and rescued Mr. Ant. After being deposited on the bank, Mr. Ant thanked Myna and being a Modern American, went off to continue gathering grain. Myna called out, "Mr. Ant! Wait! How will I feed my children?" But, Mr.Ant, being too focused on his own "life" scarcely heard her. So we see how this fine parable is with today's "civilised" ( I use the term loosely...) Modern people (American and other societys). Someone who needs something will appear to be your "best friend" until they get what they want from you. Thereafter, unless they again need something from you, they scarcely know you or are too "busy" to even acknowledge you or your need. A sad turn for the "Modern" world!

HAJRA

Myna dropped the worm and threw a leaf in the pond to help Mr.Ant. She sacrificed but now she had found two fat worms instead of one.

Usama Rashid

Myna put the worm into a leave and hid it in a small hole in tree and she picked a small piece of wood and put it into its beak and told Mr. Ant to to quickly come up. And then she took the worm and flew away.

ankita kanihal

Myna put the worm on the shore in a leaf and hid it so that no one could take it. Then ,she returned to the sea to help Mr.ant. Myna went into the sea and brought the ant out safely. The ant thanked myna and gave myna more worms to feed her child.

Arbeen Shaffi

Myna decided to save the ant instead of thinking about the worm and its young ones hunger. So she put the worm on the ground and took a leaf and threw it in the stream. The ant came out of the stream and was saved. The ant thanked the myna but the myna was upset. Ant asked the reason and she told everything so ant decided to give the food which was reserved for winter and the myna was happy and thanked the ant and took the food and flew away. This is a true story for a friend in need is a friend in deed.

anna

She then thought of a brillant idea. She put the worm on a leaf and threw the leaf into the water. The leaf floated and the worm could not escape. She then plucked out the branch and told Mr ant to hold on to the branch. Mr ant held on to the branch and Myna pulled him out. Mr ant thanked her and went home. As for Myna, she picked up the worm from the leaf and then flew home.

S.Malini

He would have dropped down the worm and helped Mr.Ant knowing that no animal would eat worms. Another reason is if he ever is in danger one day even the ant would help him.

Scott

Myna, without hesitation, drops the worm and streaks down to save the struggling Mr. Ant. After dropping her precious meal, Myna swoops down to the surface of the water and with her delicate claws, takes hold of the downed Mr. Ant. Soaring through the current, Myna safely places Mr. Ant on the shore. In a debt of gratitude, Mr. Ant embraces Myna and simply states 'follow me my friend'... After some distance, Myna is led to the most fertile of grounds; rich, moist and filled with an abundance of life giving forces. By a stone, off in the distance, Myna spots the largest collection of worms ever seen. She looks to Mr. Ant and with a glimmer in her eye, flies toward the worms which will provide the much needed sustinence for her young...

Karnellia de Spolergino

Myna saved Mr Ant and in return,Mr Ant gave her a HUGE peach.Myna and her children had a feast that day.It was much better than eating a worm!

Mishal

Myna threw the worm on the ground. She then went into the stream and took Mr Ant in her beak. She did not bother about the worm.It was more important to her to save Mr Ant's life rather than taking away the worm to her children as she could again find more worms for her children. She thought life is very precious. Once gone it never comes back. She also thought her children could wait for the food as Mr Ant's life was more precious.

The bird bought a leaf and told the ant to sit on this leaf and thus she would help her.

She got an idea. There was a tree near the shore. She kept the worm on the leaf near by, went down the tree and told Mr. ant to climb on. Mr. ant climbed and saved his life. He thanked and said,"You are my real friend". Myna took the worm and invited Mr. ant to have lunch with her. That's the meaning of: A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed.

Looking to the urgency of taking rescue action, Myna rushed to Mr.Ant and saved him. However, she would lost worm but earn the pride. Had she not saved life of her friend, she would have felt shame for herself all the time. Mr. Ant would not be a thankless person who has noticed the withdrawal of worm from Myna, but was a true friend of Myna who would fulfill the need of Myna that to was arised for saving his life. A friend in need is friend indeed.

Angana

Myna took the worm to a branch of a tree and dropped it there. The worm was half-dead. So myna found a thread beside her and she cut the thread into half. She tied the first half thread to the branch and the worm. The other piece of thread ,she made a mat out of it. and she flew down to the stream and dropped the mat there.Mr Ant climbed on the mat and he floated to one of the banks of the stream. Worm. As mrs myna wanted to help the ant she was very dissapointed. On 1 hand if she takes and drops the worm as a bait it will be death for the starving kids on the other hand if she leaves mr ant drowning that will be a big respomsibility to take. who will give him fresh ants when it is winter.she thinked too much about it.
