COMPLETE THE STORY

How Much?

One day Gopu was returning home with a cow he had purchased.
On the way he met a man from his village.
"How much did you pay for the cow?" asked the villager.
"Three hundred rupees," said Gopu.
A little later he met another man who also wanted to know the price of the cow.
Gopu told him.
Some time later he met a third man.
"How much..." he began.
But before he could finish his sentence, Gopu rushed away and jumped into a well.
Passersby raised a hue and cry and soon a large number of people gathered around the well.
A rope was thrown inside the well. Gopu tied it around his waist and he was pulled up.
They asked him why he had jumped into the well.
