Prof. Aravinda Ghosh (later Sri Aurobindo, the Sage of Pondicherry) though trained in England for the Indian Civil Service, became a revolutionary and cast a spell all over the country. But destiny willed that he should devote his later life to build up a system of yoga and philosophy so as to render the world fit to welcome the Descent and the Message of the Supermind. This intellectual giant had an uncanny mastery over English and is the author of many great works of lasting value. He is famous all over India and the world as a Mahayogi.

Aurobindos birthday falls on 15th August, our Independence day. out of all his writings, especially, SAVITRI is unforgettable book. It is his last writings and a golden treasure in my library. Much secret knowledge hidden in this book. Savitri according to Sri Aurobindo is the Divine Mother. we can study and analyse about birth, death, yoga, love. in quest of God and what not.All must have this book and read them often when they are having mental agony and depression. It is a psychological councelling for one and all. |

When the British found that the most scholastic candidate who successfully passed the ICS examination but deliberately failed in horse-riding to avoid becoming a servint of the British rulers, they falsely implicated him in Maniktala Bomb case and jailed him in Alipore Central jail. On the night before his trial he had a vision: Lord Krishna appeared before him in his cell and said that He Himself was born in a jail and would save him from any harassment to him. He therefore refused to defend himself and left everything to the will of God. Deshbandhhu CR Das obtained permission of the Chief Justice Ilaija Impey to appear on his behalf and during trial said: Your Honour, Sri Aurobindo`s name will be in history for serving the motherland, and yours for having tried him ! Sir Ilaija Impey was stunned, he used to stand second in the same class in which Sri Aurobindo used to stand first at Manchester during their early education. |
