M.K. Gandhi

1869–1948

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the Father of the Indian Nation, has a permanent place in world history as the man who evolved a new and invincible concept and technique — non-violence and Satyagraha. The Mahatma was the greatest mass leader that India, or probably the world has ever known. Indeed, he was the greatest man of his time. He transformed a suppressed and timid people into fearless fighters for freedom inviting suffering upon themselves. In the inimitable words of Tagore, "at Gandhi's call, India blossomed forth to new greatness, just as once before, in earlier times, when Buddha proclaimed the truth of fellow-feeling and compassion among all living creatures."

People say so many things about his personality but we don't have any doubts about his loyalty for India. The developing platform which every country needs he gave it for India either it is Salt or independence war.

Gandhi favoured nondiscrimination based on religion or caste. He also valued women and children.
Aruj Shah
M.K. Gandhi the father of the nation, encouraged people to make their own clothes and he himself made his own clothes out of the material 'Khadi'. He was the person who reduced the price of salt because salt was the food that poor people ate.
Hud the Poet
Gandhi was a great man who would be saddened that the best thing people have to do with their lives is to leave pointless little messages on this website. He led the uprisings of Indians against the oppression of British Imperialism and all "Minal" can say is - "Mahatama Gandhi was a great freedom fighter who fought for India's Independence". And yes I am aware of the irony that I'm doing the same now but that's life...pointless and we all need some form of entertainment

Gandhi died in 1948
Shiv Lal
We called Gandhi jee "Bapu" because he fought for our freedom without any personal interest. When all Indians were celebrating 1st independence, he was fighting against communalism.
Jaci Gestero-DiMaggio
Gandhi said, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
karthik
He was an avatar of lord hanuman. Faithfully he chanted ramanama always
