Vallabhbhai Patel

1875-1950

Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, India's "strong man," popularly called Sardar Patel, was known for his iron will and
indomitable courage. He became an unrivalled peasant leader and successfully led the famous Bardoli Satyagraha. The foremost captain of our forces of consolidation, within two years as free India's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs and States, he brought about the integration of over 500 Princely States with the Indian Union and established political solidarity which for two millennia had eluded the rulers of India from Asoka down to the British Emperors.

Very good and informative list as Builders of India. But I think as a Indian; we should not forget to include these names in the list of Builders of India: Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chatrapati Shivaji, Ravi Shanker Maharaj, Vithalbhai Patel, the Brother of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel & Kasturba who supported Mahatma Gandhi to succeed in the movement to Build Hindustan. And who truly sacrificed their life in their fight for Independence Movement.

This page does lot of injustice by providing handful of information of a such a great man. The true achievement of this man called Iron man of India cannot be compared to any other freedom fighters. While most of the other leaders are known for their contribution in Indian Independece, Sardar Patel played a very important role in the post Independence era. He not only united various Indian provinces that under the rule of various independent rules/nawabs also inculcated the feeling of national integartion among the fellow Indians. I think more details should have been given on this page so that readers can truly appreciate the work of this great man of India.

According to me he was the krishna avtar. Just like krishna as much you know about him you fall in love with him deeper and deeper. But the information about him on net is too less there is too much more about him for the new generation to know and respect him which he deserves and has not been paid unfortunately. but its our bad luck that we have forgotten the man behind this undivided country.

When SARDAR PATEL died in Bombay in December 1950 ,all Indians mourned his loss and his funeral procession was attended by more than ten thousand people. The Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and the President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, flew to Bombay for the funeral. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru called him the Builder Of Modern India.
DHRUV
He was an 'Iron Man' not a 'Strong Man'.
