Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, also hailed as "Desagaurab" and cherished Gandhiji as "patriot of patriots," will live in History as a
great rebel. His undaunted spirit preferred defeat and exile to submission. He eluded the police and escaped from India incognito. During World War II, he founded, in occupied Europe and South-East Asia, the Indian National Army out of the "rice soldiers" and valiantly fought for the liberation of India from the British yoke. He coined and popularised our national salutation "Jai Hind." Netaji was the first to hail Gandhiji as the
"Father of the Nation".

Bose collaborated both with the German and the Japanese fascists. He tried to convince Hitler to raise an Indian Army to fight the British, even though he knew of the atrocities and the genocide commited by the Germans. |

Subhashchandra Bose was the most visionary and fierce activist in the pre-independence era. Known as Netaji, he followed the path which no one even could have thought of. An unparalleled example of the declaration of Independent Indian government with a cabinet & its own army was seen in form of the Indian National Army under the leadership of Subhash Chanda Bose. While he was the president of Indian National Congress during 1937 to 1939, he founded the Indian National Congress. He was acclaimed as a god like figure, akin to the many mythological heroes like Rama or Krishna, and continued as a legend in Indian mind. He was the man whom the Indians looked upon as their future leader. They never believed that he died in plane crash. Some believe that he is still alive. |
