Sri Narayana Guru was a rare combination of saint and social reformer.
In one of his messages to his disciples, Sri Narayana Guru said:
Inform the people about the general principles of religion and propagate faith in God. Strive among the people to achieve external and internal cleanliness or the threefold cleanliness (of thought, word and deed). Speak to the people about non-violence, love and unity and make them observe these principles. Select and train suitable young men and send out the best and willing among them as monks to work for the good of others.
This message sums up Sri Narayana Guru's life and work.

Sri Narayana Guru led the movement against caste oppression in Kerala. In 1903 he founded the Sri Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam(SNDP) to carry on the work of social reform, the awakening of oppressed castes and to promote among the people fraternity without distinctions of caste and religion. |

Narayana guru visited Ramana at his hermitage, his comments a rare diamond, like Ramana adorns the hill of Arunachala.. Ramana greeted him in malayalam. In his last days of Guru Narayana, Ramana sent him his attendant kunjuswamy to attend on his needs. The world today is wired, but then India is still steeped in casteism the political vote bank, wish our politicians are taken to the ashram and educated on the high ideals of Narayana Guru. |

Sree Narayana Guru was a great Saint & Social Reformer, who always stood for one caste, one religion, one God for man. Whatever may be the religion of a man, it is enough if he becomes virtuos. Ask not, Say not Think not caste. |

Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
