lucrative practice at the bar. One of the earliest and foremost disciples of Gandhiji, he plunged into the Champaran Satyagraha of 1917 and devoted the rest of his life to the national cause. Many times Congress President. Union Minister and the President of the Constituent Assembly, he reached the pinnacle of fame as the first President of the Indian Republic and served in that capacity for two terms. Devout and deeply religious, he was an embodiment of the best values in Indian Culture.

Have heard that some one in the family of Dr. Rajendra Prasad had accepted Islam. Probably his uncle or his father's uncle and settled down in motihari and known as Lord of Tirhut. Have also heard that Mr Shakeel ur Rahman, member of parliament and former vice chancellor of Mithila university and muzaffarpur university belongs to the same family. |
