The smallest country

Which is the smallest nation?
Vatican City in the heart of Rome, Italy.
It covers an area of less than half a square kilometre and has a population of less than a thousand souls.
Half of its territory is occupied by famous buildings like the Basilica of St. Peter, the world’s second-largest church; the Vatican palaces, the Vatican museums and the Sistine Chapel.
Since 1929 when it was given its present status, Vatican City has had its own flag, postage stamps, national anthem and radio station.
