Dimdima
Online Children's Magazine from India
More than thousand years ago the inhabitants of the Nazca Desert in Peru, scratched out shapes of giant lizards, birds, animals and flowers on the barren ground over an area of 40 miles.
Why they did it remains a mystery especially as the drawings seem to be made to be viewed from the air but they fascinate everyone who sees them.
The drawing of the spider shown here is 150 ft. long.

Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
