The Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA, is one of the most graceful and beautiful bridges in the world. It is a suspension bridge. A suspension bridge is made by building two tall towers and hanging strong steel cables between them. The deck is hung or 'suspended' from the steel cables. The towers of the Golden Gate Bridge rise from 227.45 metres above the water.
The bridge built in 1937 is over 1220 metres long.
