26 December 2004- 6.33 a.m. an earthquake shook the countries of South East Asia. The earthquake led to the rise of the furious killer wave- The Tsunami wave which came rushing to engulf the countries of Sri Lanka, India, Thailand and Indonesia. Before people could even anticipate the danger and escape, the huge water wall crashed down on most of them snatching their lives. The coastal areas were affected the most which has resulted in the loss of innumerable lives and destruction of invaluable properties. The Tsunami waves swept away the human bodies. People are horrified to see the bodies of their dear ones and the wrecked homes. The destructive Tsunami waves have flooded towns and villages. They are shocked to find themselves at such a huge loss and that a sea wave could be such furious and ferocious. Some have been rescued but the mortality rate has crossed 1,50,000. The trigering wave thrashed over the Andaman and Nicobar islands almost erasing the existence of life from the islands of Andamans. Malaysian and Indonesian island have been thoroughly ravaged due to the disaster. Relief work has been started, most of the other countries have contributed help by giving food, money and clothes to the saved people.
Let's make a vow this day- "To help those stricken, those who have lost their near and dear ones, to make the world a safer and a better place to live in."
