FEELINGS FOR THE TSUNAMI VICTIMS

By Amrita Basu (VII C )

It was 26th of December when I woke up and was shocked to know that an earthquake has struck the South Asian sea bed, and has resulted in a terrible Tsunami.
I was very shocked and sad to know that many innocent people had been carried away by the huge tides engulfing the coast.
Most of the islands have gone underneath the water. The islands of Indonesia were the main ones to be affected as the epicentre of the earthquake and had experienced mass destruction.
I was horrified to see the sights of floating houses, bodies of numerous people caught unaware. Tears rolled down my face seeing the lonely babies and children who had lost their families and shelter and for the parents who lost their children, for the women who became widows.
The sensation of sorrow was in the air. This disaster affected me very deeply and this was the first time that I came to know what real sadness and loneliness was. While praying I was confused that God allowed such a destruction to occur.
Please Help The Tsunami Victims!

Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
