SHOE MANIA

1. Eight pairs of Sandals studded with rubies were made for Judee Garland- the heroine of the film ‘Wizard of Oz’, of which the last pair was sold at Six Lakh Sixty Five thousand US dollars.
2. Amongst some of the famous shoes are the ones that belong to;
a. John Travvolta’s ‘Saturday Night Fever Shoe.’
b. Lady Diana’s Wedding shoes.
c. Charlie Chaplin’s funny looking shoes.
3. The famous shoes which Neil Armstrong wore when he landed on the moon was left in the space to avoid infection.
4. High heeled shoes were a part of a gentleman’s clothing at the time of Henry VIII and George Washington.
5. The ex- first lady of Philippines, Imelda Marcos had one thousand sixty pairs of shoes.
6. Bata has its own shoe Museum. Any student can be a member of this museum. Sonza Bata has established this museum.
7. In 1893, shoes with zipper or chain began to be used.
