Salt Dough Hanging

(Adult Supervision Required) Things required : 11/4 cup plain flour, half a cup salt, some water, a rolling pin, a silk thread, a coloured bead, an oven, an oven tray, a rolling board, some acrylic paints and varnish. Method : 1.Take 1 cup of flour, add salt and knead into a (chapatti) dough with water. Keep in the fridge for two days. 2.Dust the oven tray with flour. 3.Place the dough on a rolling board (divide it if it's too big) and roll it evenly flat with the rolling pin.Cut into triangles, stars, squares, semi-circles and circles. Place them on the dusted tray. 4.Bake them for about 20 minutes at gas mark 2 or 300 degrees F(150 degrees C). The dough will still be soft at the centre. Make a tiny hole at the centre of each shape. Once again bake them at the same temperature till they are brown and crisp. 5.Apply two to three coats of paint on each shape and leave them to dry. Then add a coat or two of varnish. 6.Knot one end of a silk thread with a coloured bead and then thread the various shapes. Make a loop at the other end of the thread to hang it on a wall.
