Bloodsuckers Doom

Hey! Mosquitoes are buzzing around us. Our war cry? KILL THEM! Kolkata Municipal Corporation has decided to breed a bigger mosquito! The Toxorhynchites splendence are 40mm. long. They don't relish sucking our blood. They would rather guzzle nectar! But their babies, the larvae, happily gobble up other mosquito larvae. 1 toxorhynchite larva can eat 150 other mosquito larvae! All that the adults want is a green habitat to lay their eggs. Malaria? Not in Udaipur (Tripura) or Hawaii Islands. Toxorhynchites have everything under control!
In Andhra Pradesh, thumb sized fresh water fish (Gambusia and Lebistes) have been put into stagnant waters of tanks, drains and lakes. The 'guppi' fish welcome the entry of these newcomers to the 'Mosquito Larvae Eating Club!
Scientists believe powdered starch kills mosquito larvae! Thailand has a mosquito software program that emits sounds with frequency of 15-20 kilo herz. This creates a dangerous zone for mosquitoes- they CANNOT fly! But this has side effects. Some humans got headaches while dogs were attracted to the computer speakers!
