Born in India our Bapu
The man of honesty
The man of greatness
With heart so big and good
He is father of our nation
Who had determination
To destroy British expansion
Not with weapons did he fight
Non-violence and Satyagraha were his might
His aim was one
To unite India as one
Kasturba was his wife
Served the country together throughout their life
Once wore splendid clothes
Sacrificed everything and spinned khadi
His sacrifice didn’t go waste the Britishers had to leave in haste
Not with weapons
But with non-violence, truth and Satyagraha
His determination made Britishers flee
And made Indians glee
Though he is not among us
His fragrance stays in minds of millions
