It was the second day of October
The warm rays of the sun welcomed him to the
Heavenly earth
None imagined that he would guide
A `sleeping country’.
Neither had they dreamed that this barrister would
Free the slaves from their bonds
Violence was the one he most hated
And helping others, he never hesitated.
Oh! Bapu ! If one cries,
he comes to relieve pain and anguish
Yes, he is Gandhi,
One to be honoured, cheered, saluted
He is the one who made
Today’s India

Come on friends!
Let us all arise
And pay a long lasting tribute
To our Father of the Nation
We bow down to you, Bapu!
For your great patriotism and love of our country
