When the sun rises in the sky
With beauty of dawn on its side
Moves on throughout the day
Until the silence of the dusk rides
Whether it is the clock on the desk
Or the thumping heart in one’s chest
All are different lengths of time
Of our life’s wind chime.
Shadows of sun on the stony dial
Or growing child’s cries & wails
Rushing waves onto the shores
Along with wind moving sand dunes.
After nights a new day arise
Like a bird reaching out for the sky
All are different lengths of time
Of our life’s wind chime
Summer, autumn, winter & springs pass by
The way months, years & centuries fly
These are different signs of time
But awkward in their kinds & ways
But, all are different lengths of time
Of our life’s wind chime.
