POEM
India crunched in the jaws of monsters

Madhuri Luthra,

Class XI

India
crunched in the jaws of monsters

Land of Nehru Gandhi and Tagore

Stands in dark lore

Problems are many

Leaving people without a penny

Let's talk about corruption

Which is the main cause of our growth obstruction

Mouths to feed are plenty

But food to eat scanty

More than three-fourths of earth is
water

But amount of drinking water is shorter

Politicians are least bothered

Leaving people alone to get slaughtered

Vote bank is their main objective

And the chair
is their only motive

As India is the biggest democracy

So is the huge storehouse of hypocrisy

The problem is understood by fewer

Which makes the rich richer and the poor poorer

There is one thing I really hate

How people leave their lives on pre-destined fate

Rather they should understand the need of the day

Awaken arise and make their own way

Then you will see that no one will
remain poor

And our long diseased India will find a cure.

Words of Appreciation

LIPI BATRA

Thankkzzzzz for bringing all this to our notice but don't you think we shouldn't go negative about our nation to this depth!!! I mean we cannot ever call our country diseased it will be a disrespect to the country!!! I do not mean that we should turn away and close our eyes to all this, but then there are other things that we should do.

SHRADHA

Your poem is great. Just the language of the last 2 lines should have been a li'l soft. It's great to see that you care so much about your motherland even being an NRI.
