POEM
Sir Vivian Richards

Hugh Emanuel

Sir Vivian
Richards

England, Pakistan, New
Zealand, Australia and Sri Lanka

call him the master blaster

A man of nobility his countrymen call him Vivi

His power, technique and confidence made him the greatest batsman ever

Sir Viv, Smoking Joe, the bull, Master blaster he is from Antigua

Pace bowler often wonder what type of ball to deliver

Bouncer, Yorker, Even beamer, it doesn't matter

With his red cap on his head and his shirt collar up,

the crowd claps in dismay as another boundary goes by

Sir Viv, Smoking Joe, the bull, Master blaster he is from Antigua

The West Indies community idolized him for his greatness

India declared him the king of cricket

With the making of centuries after centuries

As he crouches with his trademark of chewing waiting,

Spin- bowlers tremble to deliver, knowing the devastation

Sir Viv, Smoking Joe, the bull, Master blaster he is from Antigua

Words of Appreciation

BILIGIRI RANGA

Viv is and will always be the King of cricket. Players may come and go, but cricket and viv will stay on for ever. Who can match viv's stride to the wicket chewing gum fast and furious and with his famous red maroon cap. No protection gear unlike so many of today's stalwarts. There will never be another VIV.

MR.VALA PANKAJ

I am a fan of Vivian richards right from the time I started understanding cricket. I salute you for your great contribution to world cricket.
