Independence Day by Arun

Today is the day! Today is the day!
Let us see our national flag sway
Let it in the breeze unfurl
Let it shine with glory as it swirls
Let us break the chains of labour
For Freedom now is in our favour
Let every Indian live free again
The great battle of independence, lest be in vain
Let us Indians unite again
At last freedom we did attain
Let us remove the differences amidst
Let the long years of tyranny be lost in the mist
For the great heroes of the past
For those who fought with violence and non-violence
For those who fought until the last
Let us have a few minutes in silence
Today is the day! Today is the day
Of light and hope, there is a new wave
So let us celebrate our Independence Day.
