Waiting in the Moonlight

Waiting in the Moonlight

Far from sight,

Bathing in the light,

There stood a girl.

Oh! What a beauty did she add

to the speckled world outside.

But she had a look which said,

She was sad, anxious,

Probably waiting for someone.

And all of a sudden,

She smiled,

And even the night grew bright.

There was someone at the door,

The girl cried of joy,

"Oh mamma, you're back.

I missed you so much."

The leaves rustled,

There was a soft whisper,

And I woke up

To find myself on my bed.

Oh what a wonderful dream,

Waiting in the moonlight.
