Imagine the dew on a morning flower,
Of pregnant clouds rolling afar.
Of bubbling brooks,
And lush green nooks.
Of unending oceans ,
and glaciers in motion.
Hey man, your deeds are destroying my life,
Each day is becoming an increasing strife.
My lakes are drying, my ices melt,
Such pain and agony I’ve never felt.
You pollute the lakes, you pollute the air,
The earth is crumbling under your strain,
And me crying tears of acid rain.
O dear man, when will you learn,
Without me your life will burn.
On distant planets, it’s me you seek
While on our earth, I’m thirsty and weak.
Amaan Vora,
11 years old
Marble Arch school
Mumbai.
