CHILDREN'S CONTRIBUTIONS
Spellbound by the stars of the sky,
Cradled by nature, you'd let the time pass by,
You wished to have wings to fly high,
Your favourite question was always "Why?”
Nothing in life made you bored,
Nor angry noises made you sore,
Toys and stories were your life's core,
And you kept asking for more and more,
Puddles of mud was your favourite playing spot,
Your demands were fulfilled on the dot,
No pains to bother about, with everything you'd got,
You detested milk when it was really hot.
Grudges did not exist in that mind,
Jealousy and hatred were hard to find
Caste and creed were not the forces that bind,
Innocent and gentle were you, and kind.
But with the passage of time,
Things began to become quite mine,
Gone were those golden days,
No longer were remembered your funny ways.
One hidden and protected by that hood,
You were the ruler of your own mood,
Now, you wonder about those lost blocks of wood,
As they all cease and become mere memories of your childhood.
