| Treatment given to widows in India |
| I think the treatment given to widows is ridiculous in India. Young girls who are hardly 6 or 7 years are married and then when their some 60 yr old husband dies they are subjected to bad treatment and they are advised to forget to smile and live the rest of the life in memory of their husband. How stupid is that. That girl doesn't even know who her husband is. And a little older widows are advised not to do certain things like doing certain pooja and etc. I think this should be banned and widow remarriage should be allowed. Women should stand up against such ill treatment and learn to become independent, smart and intelligent. |

Well Menaka, what you are saying is very true, but as far as I know we are all living in the 21st century and such, still exist but in some parts of rural India and hardly in the modern world,as these days the government is also not as bad as we think it is.
So let us all give it a chance and see, what can it do on matters like this, but I am really glad that you have come up with topics like this and also dimdima to start discussions on not only this but other subjects and give children a chance to talk and express their views.
