Role of students in Democracy
Democracy is a Government of the people. Students form a considerable part of the population of a country. What is their role in this field?

Students can involve themselves in the system of democracy only after the age of 18. All youngsters should not lose this opportunity and vote for the right people to govern our country. Sadly what happens is that students forget about it as they think that one vote is not going change anything. I think only poverty stricken people vote in our country. That too they are given lot of gifts for voting. So there is really no point in voting. If the poor people are educated by the government then atleast a person can vote for the right person because then he will have a job and not depend on the politicians for a lot of things. Students hardly participate in the voting. Most people are middle aged. I think youngsters rather than old aged people should be encouraged to rule the country and take it to greater heights. That's all I have to say.

My opinion is that we as students ARE participating in elections. We are well familiar to the vitality of a democracy and are on the quest to preserve this largest funcioning democratic country. We, as people negotiate, are not against politics. We have learnt the good side of our country and are just hoping to bring about a change in our system. The difference is that, as you said, we are ourselves can be the change...
