MY INDIA

India our nation,
Taught us passion.
For long she suffered,
Leaving many injured.

Leaders many she gave birth to,
Gandhi for one and many others too.
Sacrifices many they made,
'Quit our nation' they said.
Jailed and beaten, blood they shed,
Leaving thousands dead.

Finally free we did become,
On August 15th to let us bloom.
To blossom and flower on our own,
To strive until matured and grown.
Let's all join to keep the freedom light,
Glowing nice and bright.
