Muscle strength is necessary for any physical activity – from picking up your school bag to playing a lofted shot for six in cricket. Though, as we have seen, strength, flexibility and endurance are all interrelated, fitness cannot be achieved without first developing sufficient strength. Strong muscles give you good posture and physique and help you carry out physical activities like picking up your bag or playing a cricketing shot more efficiently. They even help you exercise to get stronger, faster and more flexible.
Muscles deteriorate when not used. When your muscles are weak, you use more energy than a physically fit person. Moreover, you run the risk of injuring the joints in your body besides feeling stiff and sore after carrying out your daily tasks.
