The baobab found in parts of Africa is a strange-looking tree.
According to African folk lore: “The devil plucked up the baobab, thrust its branches into the earth and left its roots in the air”.
Although it does not grow to a great height its trunk is enormous and can be 30 ft. or more in diameter. The natives sometimes dig into the trunks of the living trees and fashion them into houses!
