The Kea Parrot, a native of New Zealand is a mountain-dwelling bird. Though it eats nuts and fruits like all other parrots, it also eats flesh. It is the only flesh-eating parrot in the world.
New Zealand farmers would be happy if the bird was exterminated because it sometimes attacks and kills sheep that have been trapped in snow. But despite their efforts the bird survives and is often seen walking placidly on the ground as if to mock the farmers.
