CHILDREN'S CONTRIBUTIONS

ENVIRONMENT

By S. Vishesh Reddy (V F)

The Earth is a beautiful planet, round in shape and colourful. Nature has ensured that she is at right distance from the sun so that we do not suffer from extremes of heat or cold. We enjoy all the seasons throughout the year. The Earth has a very good environment, enough food, water and all materials needed for every living being.
Though we all know that nature has not drawn any boundary lines, we have created many countries with boundaries both on land and water and keep fighting to extend them.
With our growing needs for better life we have invented many things and built several factories to produce new items for use in every walk of life.
Our search for improved life has made our mother earth suffer from severe pollution. We have destroyed the forests, beautiful land forms and polluted land, air and water with harmful chemicals.
It is important for all of us to stop pollution of our environment in every little way. We must not use thin polythene bags and put in efforts to reduce all types of waste. All of us must follow strictly what our Government wants us to do in reducing pollution. Lastly, we must tell every one around us how important it is to protect the environment and save the beauty of our mother earth.

Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
