CHILDREN'S CONTRIBUTIONS

JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

By K. Vignesh (VII)

Born in the year 1889 on 14th of November,
This is the day remembered by the children in calendar.
The visionary man of India known as Chacha Nehru,
He loves children and likes childhood.

He fought with British for freedom,
And drove them out of our Kingdom.
He was a rich man,
But gave all his wealth to the nation as a nobleman.

After independence he became the first prime minister.
And united the people just like words in a letter.
He loved children very much,
And that is why his birthday is Children's day.

Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
