SAVE WATER

By Asmita Barik (VII B)

Water is a natural resource that must be conserved or saved. It is limited and scarce. If we don’t start ‘Saving Water’, ultimately a day will come when there will be severe shortage of water. It is rightly said, ‘Water is life and life is water’. Without water we can’t live a single day, Human habitat will be completely destroyed if clean water is not available. Our motto should be to ensure availability of water for our future generation.
There are various simple ways to save water. One should practice from very young age starting from their home only.
1. One should use a bucket instead oof shower for bathing.
2. Turn off the tap while brushing.
3. Ensure that your home has no taps that leak.
4. Use small glasses for drinking water.
5. While washing the dishes, don’t let the water run during rising.
6. Use the washing machine and dish-washer when they are full.
7. Use sprinkler while watering the plants.
8. Water your lawn and garden in the morning or evening to minimize evaporation.
Best way to save water at home is to measure the water by installing water meter. It will raise awareness and consequently reduce water intake. Most important way to save water is to educate the people and spread awareness regarding water conservation. If we start these practices today and influence people to make saving habit, we can conserve water and save earth for future generation.
