THE ALIEN QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY

By Oishik Rudra (VI)

One day a thirteen year old boy named Bill and his dog Scamp were playing in the field chasing each other. When the sky was getting darker, they grew tired and thought to go home. But they sat there for a while and left after few minutes. Suddenly, a space ship appeared in the sky. It hovered at a low level around the place where they were sitting. Soon the spaceship flashed a yellow light on them and pulled them into it.
There were alien soldiers, chefs, servants and their King and Queen who were seated in their royal seat. They were all tall and big. Bill and Scamp looked so tiny in front of them. They looked around and watched two funny servants who were behaving silly. They could not help laughing. It was actually the Queen’s birthday. The two servants were called and the Queen said to them, “Make a big cake with eggs and I want a beautiful cake ready within half an hour. Bill and his dog Scamp were kept in a bowl. The aliens asked them to give eggs. But, you see, how could Billy and Scamp give eggs when they are not hens? But the aliens kept asking them for eggs. They did not understand that only hens and birds can give eggs on earth. The alien servants were foolish. With their gigantic body they lifted Bill and Scamp into their palms and brought them to the kitchen. They were red with anger and so they mixed the boy and his dog with flour and milk and spread the mixture in a big pan. Then the pan was put inside a big oven which looked like a big hall for Bill and Scamp. The hall-like oven was closed. The mixture was becoming a big cake. Bill and Scamp rolled to the centre and kept themselves away from heat. They were scared that the cake would burn them. But luckily the burns were not serious. The oven was opened and the cake was taken to the Queen. The Queen was so happy to see the cake. She was about to cut it but Bill jumped and Scamp also jumped with him. Soon the cake was crushed. The Queen’s eyes grew red and she ordered her silly servants to drop them out of the spaceship. They did so. Bill and Scamp ran away from the field and never ever came there to play.
