My Trip to Singapore

One day I heard mom and papa talking about momís article been invited to be presented at ďAsia Oceania Geoscientific Society at Singapore. They informed that probably me, bhaiya and papa would also join mom on her trip. I was delighted and danced around. They also told me that it was not very sure that if all of us would accompany mom as our school was open those days.
Later it was decided that we all would be able to accompany mom on her trip. My parents planned a 10 days trip to Singapore and Malaysia. We packed our suitcases and all four of us were ready to go to Singapore. We went to Mumbai by train and from the station we went to Sahar airport, which is the international airport in Mumbai. We met our relative Mr. Ranjit Sinha who is a very senior custom official of the airport. I asked him how he would he know that person was carrying drugs or was a smuggler. He told me that he had an eye to identify smugglers and is also helped by big fierce looking dogs who sniffed and barked loudly if they smelt the drugs.
We were going to travel by Air India. On 9th morning, I was sitting comfortably in the air craft and was ready for our 5 hours long journey. The plane was not going to land anywhere but unfortunately it had to land at Chennai because of bad weather. There at the airport, I met my momís friend Hema aunty who is a senior professor in the Department of Geology at Anna University, Chennai. She was very nice and asked me about my school, class, studies and friends etc. She also wished us luck for our trip. She was also coming to Singapore to attend the same meet as my motherís but was on a different flight. The Chennai airport was very neat and clean.
When we landed at Changi airport, Singapore, I was amazed to see such a grand airport which was spread over 3 levels. It was absolutely clean and looked just like a 5 star hotel. I wanted to spend some time to roam around the airport but my parents told me that I could do the same on our journey back to India. We were going to stay in 'Little India' in Singapore and our hotelís name was Broadway hotel which was a beautiful hotel.
The next day when mom came back after giving her presentation, we went to places like The Merlion and Jurong Bird Park. In the following days we visited all the places of tourists interest at Singapore like, Zoo, Night Safari, Sentosa island, Esplanade theatre, etc. We also went to several beaches, watched dolphin show at lagoon, birdís of prey show and musical magical fountain show. We went to various malls like Raffels city Mall, Dhoby Ghat Mall, Mustafa Plaza, Orchard Mall, Lucky Mall etc which are all very huge malls. It had all kinds of things, from food stuff to televisions, mobiles, computers, clothes, and all sort of big and small stuffs. We bought two ipod nano, one white and one black from the Apple centre. They are very small and sleek. Singapore is very neat and clean and very beautiful too. I was told by my parents that it is a zero crime city and there is death penalty for drug trafficking there.
We went to Malaysia too in between for 2 days. There what I liked the most was Genting, which is a beautiful amusement place developed on a hill for tourists. A Chinese man had constructed a big fun park there. There is also a big sky watch tower and if you sit in it you can see a very beautiful sight of Malaysia from there.
After 2 days, we came back to Singapore and the next day we were going to leave for India. At Changi airport at Singapore, while returning, we checked-in 4 hours early so that we could look around the place. Our flight was delayed from Jakarta due to Earthquake and bad weather. We roamed around the airport which had casinos, gift shops, garment shops and outlets of many best brands of the world. I enjoyed a lot at the Changi airport. There were free internet terminals also at several places from where I checked my mail account. Finally when we boarded the flight I was very sad as I missed Singapore.
I was very happy that I got a chance to visit a very neat, clean, beautiful and happening country like Singapore. My trip to Singapore is now in my memory which I shall always cherish!!!
