The Hungry Birdy
When I heard the chirping of a bird, I had a thrill
As I saw a bird sitting on my window sill.
Later, I came to know it was a pigeon
Which seems very special in my vision.
But then, tears rolled down my eyes
As I heard its hungry cries.
I looked everywhere for grains.
But in vain,
The little hungry bird seemed unable to bear its pain.
It cried and cried, till my kind heart dried.
I resolved to help it
And make it once again fit.
I ran down the street
To the shop of wheat.
After purchasing grains
I ran down the lanes.
But when I reached
I with sadness wept,
As it was no more
in this
Greedy, uncaring world!
