Hurt No living Thing & How doth the little busy bee

Two Poems

HURT NO LIVING THING

Hurt no living thing,

Ladybird, nor butterfly,

Nor moth with dusty wing,

Nor cricket chirping cheerily,

Nor grasshopper so light of leap,

Nor dancing gnat, nor beetle fat,

Nor harmless worms that creep.

HOW DOTH THE LITTLE BUSY BEE

How doth the little busy bee

Improve each shining hour,

And gather honey all the day

From every passing flower!

How skillfully she builds her cell,

How neat she spreads the wax!

And labours hard to store it well

With the sweet food she makes.

These 2 poems are really nice. They describe about various things of nature and a busy bee. Children have the ability to write such poems. Keep it up!

Shruti, you've written the 1st poem very well. But the second poem, though it is very good, it is from a textbook, since I had it last year. I can even tell you the name of my textbook-English reader Part 6 by Ratna Sagar. But yet, you have chosen a really good poem and I am glad the whole world knows about it now!!!!!!
