I could see that drop of grief Flowing down her cheek. I asked her why But that made her cry more. Am I not close to you For you to reveal the secret? She had to do all our house chores And was whipped by my aunt if at all she snored. What a nasty aunt I had I thought about the girl so sad. I wish I could have her as my sister Guard her lovely face from blister. But all these wishes will remain wishes Though I’ll console her with lots of love and kisses. To make sure she never feels alone, Bored, sole and forlorn. I will treat that girl like my own sister! Kaushika Nair VII A B.V.M, Elamakkara Kochi
