Gandhi Quiz

The Magic Of The Map

Once there lived a man called Dhani. He was very lazy. He did not like to work at all. Once he had got a good job but he was dismissed from the job as he did not work properly and was irregular. Now he was an idle fellow. He used to beg although he was educated.
Dhani lived in a small hut with his brother. Whatever his brother used to earn they both would share it. But Dhani would never repay it back by helping him.
One day Dhani was walking on a street when his eyes caught the sight of an old folded paper. He picked it up and unfolded it. His excitement knew no bounds when he discovered that it was a map of a treasure chest. He decided not to share this secret with anybody. Not even his brother.
This map was no ordinary but a magical map. It had two conditions and if they were not fulfilled the finder would not find the treasure. These two conditions were 1}The person should be hardworking. 2}The person should share the secret with somebody.
When Dhani reached home he hid the map in a safe place and decided to search the treasure early next morning. He awoke at 5am and tiptoed to the place where he had kept the map. He carefully took out the map and went out of the hut trying to be as quiet as a mouse as he didn't want to disclose the secret to his brother.
He went where the map directed. He at last came to the spot marked on the map where the treasure was hidden. He started digging quickly. But soon his excitement waned and disappointment arose as he did not find the treasure. He sat down under a tree to rest. His body was sweating from top to bottom.
Suddenly Dhani heard a voice," Dhani, you think you will get the treasure so easily ?" Dhani looked here and there but found nobody. So he asked ,"Who are you ?" The reply came "I am the map you are holding in your hands and as you can see, I am magical". He was dumbstruck when he saw the map glowing. The map spoke "To get the treasure you have to fulfill these two conditions" and proceeded to tell them to the stunned Dhani. For the greed of treasure he agreed to the conditions.
He went home immediately and disclosed the secret to his brother. He started farming. He used to grow vegetables and fruits and sell them in the market in the city. Thus by hardwork Dhani gained enough wealth to build a huge house. He used to help the poor people by giving them money and fruits from his farm. Now everybody started liking him and made friends with him. He also used to help his brother with the daily chores. Thus three years passed very soon and Dhani had forgot about the treasure.
One day his brother reminded him of the map and treasure. But Dhani wisely said that he had gained a lot of wealth and he had no desire for the treasure now. There are millions of people in the country who don't have even one meal everyday and here he was greedy for money. This is not fair.
These wise thoughts made him the Mayor of the city. Thus the magic of the map had really made him a wondrous personality, happy and prosperous.
