TALES FROM READERS

Asha And Aadesh In Frogindom!

Once upon a time there was a girl named Asha. One day, when she came back from school tired, she just hopped into bed and went to sleep immediately. She had a dream. In her dream she was playing basketball with her brother, Aadesh. While trying to throw the ball into the basket, Aadesh threw it a little high and fast.
The ball flew and fell into a nearby garden. Unknown to both of them, the garden belonged to "Frogingdom," the place where all frogs lived together! Like all other kingdoms, Frogingdom also had a King, a Queen, and a cute little prince frog! The prince frog, found the ball, picked it up, and started playing with it. He was very happy to see another creature that hopped like him!
As Asha and her brother ran into Frogingdom to find the ball, they were surrounded by an army of frogs! The soldiers dragged both of them to the King Frog. The King Frog asked them, "What are you two doing here?"
Asha replied, "We are here for our ball, Sir. Please return it to us."
The King then asked his subjects, "Did any of you see a ball?" The prince had never heard of a ball but he ran to the King to show him his new friend - the ball! He excitedly said, "Pa, see my new friend!" The King laughed at the little prince and took the ball in his hands. "He can hop even higher than me!" the Prince continued.
Asha and Aadesh looked at the little happy prince and thought it would be very cruel to take the ball away from him. They said to the King, "The Prince needs the ball more than us, Sir. Please let him keep it as a gift from us!"
The King was very happy. He waved his hand as Asha and Aadesh ran out of the garden. Outside they saw a huge chariot driven by frogs. A frog stepped out and said, "This is your own special chariot, Asha. The King has sent it just for you two! Everytime you need to visit Frogindom, you just have to clap twice and it will be there next to you!"
Asha leaned forward to take a closer look. Just then she heard a loud thud and felt some pain. She opened her eyes to find herself lying down below her bed! She had fallen from her bed!
Mother came hurriedly into the room and asked worriedly, "What happened Asha?" She just smiled and said, "Nothing Ma! I was just having a hopping time!"
