We all talk about saving our mother earth vis-a-vis our natural resources. But the need of the hour is to initiate action on this account. Though lot is said in schools but nothing is done. Therefore, we should start aiming at water harvesting project in schools, avoid destroying paper by consuming less paper. I have seen project files, charts given for the summer holidays lying in the cupboards of the school.

I think that u r correct !! Man is really trying to destroy forest and indirectly cutting his life span!! Actually cutting one tree is equal to subtracting one day of his life !! And when people will understand this no one of us will dare to cut tress!!

I would like to say that forests are our life and we should save these forests from getting destroyed. We get so many essential things from forests only. Nowadays people are cutting trees for making papers,contructing etc which is disturbing the environment.This is going to be very harmful for us in our future. Govt has published so many rules to save trees but no one follows it. So I would like to suggest everyone to sow seeds to grow atleast one tree every year. Save our earth from becoming desert instead of a garden.

I totally agree to the point that posterity will be in great danger if forests are allowed to be destroyed for industrial purposes but just tell me can you live without furniture, paper and other plant derived stuff. We people are debating about this topic since ages but nothing can be done about this till some alternative comes. And even if that alternative comes putting it into effect is like another big task. Trees alter our life. And by the way man has progressed so much in destroying forests and trees that reversing the process is a hard task to even imagine.

Actually, I could live without furniture, and I would like to do so in the future. I would like to live in a yurt and sit on soft mats such as the Japanese do, or the American Indians have done.

it is true that forests shouldn't be cut down cause they are the natural wealth of earth. but if it is an international issue then it is quite debatable cause some poor countries have the only source of income that is Logging forests and then our doors and many other things are made up of wood can we survive without it?
saving forests is ok but do we know that most of our houses are made up of wood so will we give up staying in our houses?
so i think we have to rest upon the future science and technology and have faith in future.

If we have to save the earth then we have to first increase literacy rate. Then teach people that trees can save the world and tell them how important trees are to mankind because if they are illiterate then we cant stop them from cutting trees.

The raising usage of energy needs to be stopped at some point as well. Not too much good can come out of it, more and more pollution is released to the air and we produce more and more radioactive waste. Buying all unnecessary items promote their production, energy can be saved even by doing minor things. I am using my own solar power in my house at the moment and it seem to be enough for my use. Actually with a little help I was the one who built it. The number of people in the world in exploding skyhigh and not many realize that if we continue using nature and being selfish our own children and their children have no hope - is this what we want to give them? I know its a really small step but I can recommend (for those who have the possibility) studying if you could save nature from your part as well at least a bit by producing your own energy - it wasn't that hard than it seems with good instructions and costed me less than 300$ with all materials.
