well ,I strongly believe that change is inevitable and in this case too due to reasons like lack of time and new emerging lifesytles people, the youngsters in specific have got used this- "slang lang".Though I would agree that it is not the real formal english but as far as the evolution of english is concerned, its not in our hands. Back to the point ,definitely the formal english has an elite position and it will take a real long time when you would see official docuements, etc in that form!

Yes, it should be, because it is also a type of conversation.

Well friends as seen, on communicating through sms though in english it doesnt supplement the language learning process in the unrefuted way. If one really wants to promote english as a language I would suggest to promote it using the right basics. If one really wants to promote something why to promote it wrong? Better start speaking in english with your friends, your family members....and moreover maximum schools of the date are really proving themselves to be great contributors for the same.
SO FRIENDS!!!STOP CHATTING THROUGH SMS RATHER JUST GO FOR A FULL HEARTED VERBAL "CONVERSATION" IN ENGLISH.

A healthy mind is an inquisitive mind. For those whose minds are not stable and they fear that they might implement it in their normal writing english means, they could even use dictionary mode while writing an SMS. You cant tell everything to people directly. Messaging do helps a lot in this.

I think sms speak should not be encouraged. While typing an sms people do not necessarily speak in the proper english. They speak in slangs. So the language cannot evolve.
