The White Ant tree (Cecropia albida) of Equador provides ants with a place to stay. The ants in turn ensure its safety. If anybody comes near it the ants come out in full force to drive it away. They will not even allow another plant to grow on the branches of the tree. That is why, though other plants in the vicinity may be laden with parasitic plants, the White Ant tree is wonderfully free of them!
