Why can't the earth fall?

Answers
Nancy
Because gravity lets the earth stay in one place in space.
nadeem akram
Earth cannot fall just for a simple reason that it a planet in the solar system and it is held to the gravitational pull of the sun.
N.Prabhakar
Earth cannot fall because in space there is no air.
Sadie
Why do stars twinkle?
Nitu k
Earth does not fall because there's no gravitational force acting upon the earth that attracts the earth downwards in the space.
Saurav
It's because earth's orbit is fixed on the earth that is why the earth is not falling down.
Pritha
Earth revolves round the sun. The pull of the sun is equal to the centrifugal force of the earth. Therefore, it revolves in a fixed path and doesn't fall.
vishwendra
Because there is no force to pull the earth.
Bob
The gravity in space keeps it floating.
k.deepti reddy
The earth cannot fall because of the strong and powerful gravity of the sun.
vivekkannan
Earth cannot fall because of gravitational force of the sun.
Aditya kumar
Because it is held at place by the sun's gravity
chirantan
Because it is held by the gravitational force of the sun !!!
Akash sriram.
The Earth has gravitational force
KHYATI MEHTA
The sun has its own gravitational force which attracts all the planets towards it including the earth. The earth also has its own gravitational force. So there is a balance between the two forces. So the earth doesn't fall.
anant
Its because earth is held by strong centrifugal force of the sun {which acts like gravity that does not let things on earth fall} this force keeps the earth in position and does not let it fall
rupam
Earth cannot fall because in space there is no air. and also Earth cannot fall just for a simple reason that it is a planet in the solar system and it is held to the gravitational pull of the sun.
sneha
You are in a confusion here, because we are on the earth, so all things which we release from a height will fall to the earth's surface beacause of earth's gravitational force. Whereas,in the space the earth is itself a gigantic body,it is not situated above another earth, or for that matter, anything which can attract it to itself. So it does not fall and the rotational motion of the earth as others have mentioned in their answers IS due to the gravitational pull of the sun, and it has no great significance with your Question
ahsan
The earth cannot fall because there is ozone in the atmosphere and if the ozone layers break then its falls through the sun.
Taimur
Earth cannot fall because gravity holds it in it's orbit
muneeb
Earth is moving on a circular motion around the earth so the centrifugal force acts upon it so it does not fall
waqar
Earth cannot fall because there is no gravity in solar system
Crazy
Because its held up by gravity and its axis is a pretty sturdy holder
kassie
It can't fall because it has gravity.
R.Manoj kumar
Because of the gravitational force
sheeba pathak
The earth & all the other celestial bodies in space are held by a great force of attraction called gravity. If gravity wouldn't have been there then all of us would have been flying, the rivers wouldn't flow either they would fly in space. The same way when we throw something like a ball in space it falls down & comes back to us is because of the gravitational pull of the earth.
vamshi krishna
The earth doesn't fall because of the gravitational pull of both sun and moon on the earth
ankit
It does not fall because of the force of gravitation of the other celestial bodies.
shirin
Beacause it is revolving on an orbit.
Kazim Ali
The earth does not fall because of the gravitation of other bodies around it, which keeps the earth balanced
aysha
because it has the force called gravitational force!!!!!!!!!!
parthi
Earth cannot fall because it is attracted by the gravitational pull of sun.
Parthi
Because of gravitational pull of the sun
ankita
earth cannot fall because it is revolving around the sun
ankita
earth cannot fall because it revolves around the sun
richa
Because of the gravitational force of the sun.
vandhana
Its quite simple. Earth doesn't fall because of the gravitational force of the sun.
SHREYA
It cannot fall because of gravitational pull of sun.
jade
Gravitational force holds all bodies in the solar system so that the planets stay in orbit around the sun. Gravity is a force that holds everything in place.
sudhansu mishra
Because of the gravitational force of the sun & some force applied by the earth.
Dinesh
Because in space there is no gravity and absence of gravity makes heavier things 2 times lighter and float.
Kate
The Earth is in orbit around the sun (it is kept there by gravitational attraction). It has a fast enough speed going around the it that as it orbits and falls towards the sun, the sun's surface falls away at the same rate. It is always technically falling towards the sun, only the sun's surface is falling away too. There is gravity in space and the moon isn't stopping the Earth from falling towards the sun.
