This activity can be given to the students after they are familiar with the topic “elements”.
Objectives:
To help the child to
i) recall the names of a few metals and identify them.
ii) spell the names of these metals correctly.

Instruction to the teacher:
Make photo copies of the grid and distribute it amongst the children.

The names of 16 elements are hidden in the grid given below. One element is marked for the child. Ask the children to locate the other 15. They may not be familiar with some of the elements as they are not very common. They might have to refer some books in order to get to know these.
